No. 2
Stranger's March
It's been so long that I forgot what to do at first
And nothing's coming back to me it's only getting worse
I can only think of times I've heard on TV
I only know the people that are put in front of me
I'll meet your eye and shake your hand
and I'll try to say something
we both will understand
got no protection from the fear that gets to everyone
it isn't all that comforting I'm not the only one
stranger's march in silhouette
the missing friend that ain't found yet
and everybody says they're bored to death
while the weeks go by
through a needle's eye
where you're always looking all the time
stiff and sore from all the work it takes to repair
the reckless damage that I've done trying to compare
I can't believe the same old story coming out of my mouth
you give yourself all of the glory of a tire blowing out
adding up the pointless scoring
another shot below the belt
it's all the same it's getting boring
missing love you never felt
wait all night to take effect
is there something that I missed?
cos what I need I still don't have
I don't even know what it is
I'll meet your eye and shake your hand
and I'll try to say something
we both will understand
